Fierce Compassion - happening next week!

Updated: May 6, 2022

One more week until this workshop! There are still a few in-person spots available and several online spots.

I am excited to be offering an in-person workshop for the first time in a couple of years (you can also take it via zoom in the comfort of your own home). This workshop explores compassion, boundaries, and the essential quality of anger as a signal from our bodies that something isn't quite right. We will discuss, move, write, meditate and feel our way through our time together. For more information or to register see below.

Date: Friday, May 13th

Time: 6-9pm

Price: $39+GST

Workshop is offered in person and online.

We can’t have healthy relationships and good health without boundaries. Boundaries are compassion

in action and yet we are taught that upholding our boundaries makes us selfish, unfeeling, or lacking

in some way. However, not having boundaries leaves us exhausted, resentful, and sick; if we are able

to state a boundary, we feel guilty. This workshop explores compassion, but not only in the way we’ve

come to understand it: we’ll look at compassion as a fierce love full of life force energy.

We will explore the yin and the yang of compassion, its tenderness, and its ferocity. Through somatic

practices (“soma” the Greek word for body) we will discover how “no” feels in our body and uncover

why it’s so essential. Although we are born with empathy, I believe that compassion is a skill we must

cultivate, and we need practices and awareness to do so. Having compassion is essential to changing

old belief systems and trauma patterns.

Please bring a journal, pen, and yoga mat to class. Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in,

ideally with layers as you may heat up and cool down
